This exhibit, curated by Dr. Luka Zibelnik, explored US media snippets from 1991 and 1992 regarding Slovenian independence and recognition in America.

The project followed the days and months after the proclamation of Slovenian independence , surveying differing responses across US media outlets. Support was crucial, and information was scarce, so the Slovenian community worked together and to inform local and national reporters about the struggle for independence. Slowly, all of the media began to change its tune—this shift culminated in 1992, when the United States finally recognized the independence of the new Republic of Slovenia.

The exhibition opened with a reception featuring presentations by Dr. Zibelnik, Dr. August Pust, Dick Russ, . Bob Hopkins, Mr. Joe Valencic.
